On September 13, my family and I decided to go to the LA County Fair in Pomona. I hadn’t been in about 10 years or so and was looking forward to spending a day with the family. We ended up getting a 4 pack from Costco, which cost $63 and got us 4 admissions, parking pass, and 44 game/ride tickets. There were 5 of us total, so we ended up getting one more ticket from Ralph’s, which was also cheaper than buying at the gate ($20 per person).
When we got there, we were all pretty hungry so we decided to just get a bunch of different food and share. We got parmesan garlic chips, onion rings, and a chicken plate. I mostly ate the chips and tomato/cucumber that came with the chicken plate. After that, we walked around and explored a lot of the exhibits and what not. It was super hot so any chance we had to go inside an air conditioned room, we did! We also ended up playing some games. We didn’t ride any rides, but we had a great time exploring the area.
We didn’t really want dinner, we just wanted dessert so we got one funnel cake and a couple of fried Oreos, which I’ve never tried. I LOVED the funnel cake because it’s one of my favorite things. The fried Oreos were pretty good also. After that, we definitely wanted to walk that off so we walked around some more.
The last thing we did was checked out Luminasia. It cost an extra $5 to go in, but it was beautiful. They had a whole bunch of Chinese lanterns. Some of my favorites would be the Santa Monica set up and also the Chinese zodiac lanterns. It was definitely worth the $5!
After that, we were pretty tired and decided to head back home. However, it’s a pretty big place so our walk back to the car was tiring and we stopped at one of those massage chairs for your feet that only cost $0.25! It was fun to do and then we continued to the car. I had a great time and hope to go back in the coming years!
Do you ever go to your county fairs? Do you enjoy it?
