So on March 10, my best friend and I headed to New York for a trip we had been planning since high school. We have always talked about going and we booked our hotel and flight back in December and counted down the days until March 10 arrived. I don’t count our day traveling there as day 1 because it pretty much took all day. We didn’t get to our hotel until around 9 and we did end up going to dinner and checking out Times Square but we ended up going back there so I’ll document that on another day. These New York posts are going to be picture heavy so I’ll divide them up into days.
We had made an itinerary prior to going and we pretty much stuck to that and also accomplished more than we had planned so I’d say that was successful. Our first thing planned for day 1 was a trip to the American Museum of Natural History, which was amazing. We spent a good chunk of our morning there and checked out every single thing there. Some of my favorites was seeing the animals and also the blue whale.
After that, we headed to Central Park and checked out Strawberry Fields. It took us a second to get there, which was actually okay because we were able to check out other parts of Central Park. Central Park is so big that there was no way we’d be able to see everything but we were able to see parts of it.
By then we were pretty hungry, so we decided to head to Serendipity and get some lunch. I got the meatloaf and Kath got nachos but we HAD to get THE Frozen Hot Chocolate. We’ve had it at the Las Vegas location and couldn’t wait to get it at this location. It was just as delicious. If you are ever in New York or Las Vegas, definitely check out Serendipity to get the Frozen Hot Chocolate!
After that, we decided to channel our inner Serena van der Woodsen and head to Grand Central Station. It was pretty nice to see everything there. It looks just like it did in Gossip Girl.
We also decided to check out St. Patrick’s Cathedral, which was beautiful. As soon as I saw the outside, I was already in awe but then walking in was even more amazing. We sat down and hung out for a second before leaving but while there, I couldn’t help but just be speechless. Definitely a place to check out if you’re ever in New York!
After that, we checked out Rockefeller Plaza and then walked down 5th Avenue checking out the stores and went inside Macy’s but we weren’t there very long since we were kind of overwhelmed. We ate at a place called The Bao that night and it was delicious. I didn’t end up taking anymore pictures that night because I forgot but I think I documented the good chunk of the day with photos.
Have you ever checked out any of the places we were at? What’d you think?
P.S. Day 2 coming soon!
